Global Business Mobility Visas

The UK’s Global Business Mobility visa category offers employers and individuals a series of targeted work visa options to fit specific circumstances. Ultimately, the category is intended to make it easier for companies to send employees to the UK to undertake work-related duties such as training, specialist tasks, or setting up a UK branch or office.

Types of Global Business Mobility Visa

There are five distinct types of Global Business Mobility route currently offered by the UK:

Each visa in the Global Business Mobility category has specific eligibility criteria, as well as its own rules for things like the maximum length of the visa, what is permitted when staying in the UK, and whether it is allowed to extend or switch to that particular visa.

The applicant must usually intend to work in a type of job that has been specifically approved by the Home Office for applications for this category of visa. A list of eligible jobs and occupations can be found here. Applications for a Global Business Mobility visa should be accompanied by a certificate of sponsorship from a licensed business in the UK.
